Pat Robertson Talks Haiti and God's Unmerciful Wrath
Praise Jesus! Once again, the Lord has spoken through his appointed mouth piece, Televangelist Pat Robertson. Yes, the same Pat Robertson through whom the Lord channels His anger against homosexuals, feminists, abortionists, Hindus, Islamists and liberal professors. On a recent edition of the 700 Club, the Holy man reported the Haiti earthquake was God's punishment for Haitian slaves' “pact with the devil” to win freedom from France. What a glorified, heavenly statement! Only a sinless man like Robertson can lay such judgments on an entire country. Sure, there have been scandals surrounding him (illicit gambling and fraudulent fundraising), but just like Rush Limbaugh, Ted Haggard, Catholic priests and countless other Christian sinners he simply asked God for forgiveness and was free to go on his merry way.
What gives Robertson authority to judge others? Titus 2:15 says, “Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.” If you despise Pat Robertson for saying these things about Haiti, Pat Robertson may be forced to rebuke you, too.
Mr. Robertson knows the country that introduced trendy stress-relief voodoo dolls and Wyclef Jean deserves devastation. We would be aiding the Devil himself, were we to donate money and goods to the suffering Haitians through sites such as Center of Hope or the American Red Cross. Many have been moved to pray for the victims. But remember, God custom-designed this earthquake (or at the very least, allowed it to happen). Praying to reverse His handy work is an insult that will inevitably piss Him off. And He knows where you live.
We all know Pat Robertson is a faith healer who can perform many miracles; he has even deflected hurricanes through prayer (as he’s reminded us many times on his show). Make no mistake, Pat Robertson could single-handedly heal the thousands of Haitians who are suffering so badly. Pat Robertson could single-handedly restore the buildings and quench the thirst of every last one in need. Pat Robertson could even make the poorest nation in the world a rich, flourishing nation like ours. All. By. Himself. But he will not be performing these miracles because Haiti is cursed. And just as it’s now common knowledge that God sent 9/11 to punish gay New Yorkers and Katrina to punish exhibitionist sorority girls, Mr. Robertson adds another chapter to his irrefutable account of history: The Haiti earthquake is that nation’s just and divine reward for ending slavery.
